French Jesuit - L Heart - Loyalist Ring

Found Near St.Ignace MI...And no doubt came from the French Jesuit Mission at Missilimakinac that was in Operation from 1672 to 1706
In my Reading they seem to suggest that the symbol "L" stood for King Louis the 14th of France and the "Heart"
was his love for his subjects of "New France" .It was more of less a campaign logo.
